Many hands make light work.

The seemingly endless hours put in by so many made the DAWG Nation Winter Classic Presented by DREP an incredible success! This Is what DAWG Nation is all about as volunteers, players, fans, family members and tons of others rolled up their collective sleeves to create a truly magical weekend.

Our mission is to aid families in times of need, and that’s exactly what occurred on Saturday night. Andy Finney has stage four cancer but that hasn’t stopped him from living life to its fullest. A check for $16,500 started things off on Saturday night at the Silverthorne Pavilion. Followed by raising some serious cash with some spectacular live auction items the large crowd was treated to a terrific set by the Junkyard DAWGs!
That set the stage for another powerful presentation as Mike Loccoco’s widow, Megan, joined us on stage and we presented the family with a check for $40,000. It was emotional for everyone, but comforting to know that the hockey family was once again stepping up to help one of our own.

This is what it’s all about!

This is what DAWG Nation is. You truly don’t know it unless you live it and embrace it. On Sunday, Megan Loccoco reached out with a powerful note explaining what the weekend and support meant to her and her family. Sharing how shocked she was by the outpouring of love from complete strangers. It’s truly why we do what we do. We wrapped up the tournament on Sunday night by enjoying dinner with the DREP crew.. As part of that dinner Karen Mahany tearfully shared what it meant to lose a husband and how immensely important the support from others (not just financial) really is. This is truly God’s work. Added Capoy, “to me there is nothing better than putting others in front of yourself… it’s not easy, but is so, so worth it.”

Thank you all for pulling off yet another spectacular event!
