Sometimes you just click from the get go! That was certainly the case when I met long time Colorado sports guru Mark McIntosh for lunch. I was on the edge of my seat as Mark shared his incredible life story that is full of ups and downs and twists and turns. Once a premier athlete with a very bright future ahead, Mark was expected to be a first round MLB pick and had already landed a two sport (baseball and football) full ride scholarship at the University of Missouri. A freak accident on the basketball court derailed those plans and left an 18 year old frustrated with an unsure future ahead. Undeterred, Mark shifted gears and became a trusted expert on the other side of the mic! Just when things looked to be bright, relationship and career challenges had Mark facing the most difficult days of his life. But through it all, Mark’s faith never wavered and instead he chose to grow and learn from any setback that came his way. However, there was one more big hill to climb, which came in the form of kidney disease. Facing a daily regiment of kidney dialysis, Mark knew his days were numbered and he needed a miracle. Well miracles do happen! Four months ago Mark received the gift of life from a woman he had never met! Now thriving, Mark is using his “second chance” to change lives by sharing his journey and hoping to create more miracles for those who deserve it most!
