Wrap Around Effect
The Wrap Around Effect is the staple of DAWG Nation support. It’s an ever-revolving cycle of giving and receiving support for our hockey family, rallying the community to make lasting impacts for those in need. Click on any step below to learn more about the program.
Delay of Game
An individual is diagnosed with a medical condition or a tragedy occurs.
Pregame
The individual (or their family) is nominated to receive support from DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation as a Recipient.
Play Hard
The DAWG Nation Recipient Committee reviews submitted recipient nominations and determines each individual’s needs. Donation links are created, custom fundraising efforts are initiated and DAWG Nation coordinators are assigned to provide leadership and coaching support.
Play Fair
The community is rallied to help the recipient score another chance at life hockey and assisted by their donations with the secondary assist going to DAWG Nation with supplemental support form DAWG Nation’s events.
Power Play Goal
A check is presented to the Recipient from DAWG Nation to help offset medical costs and financial distress caused by the tragedy.
Wish Upon a Puck
The Recipient has the opportunity to experience an elite hockey moment, creating memories that they’ll treasure forever.
Breakaway
The Recipient is self-sufficient or in a stable place financially while getting emotional support from the DAWG Nation community. The Recipient Nominators and members of the Recipient Committee ensure that the recipient is receiving ongoing support from our foundation.
Give Back!
The Recipient then supports a new recipient and helps support their family along their journey.

The Cycle of Giving Back
The DAWG Nation Wrap Around Effect not only helps those in need, but also brings the hockey community closer together. Our 8 steps, outlined above, serve to provide immediate aid to individuals and families in times of need as well as introduce recipients to our ever-growing program.
Many recipients end up continuing to donate and provide support to the hockey community after they themselves have received aid. The hockey community looks out for one another, and we’re proud to be able to assist.
