Caught the first period of the Avs game before slipping out of Ball Arena for a little beer league action. But during that short stint my heart was warmed as I noticed the “not so little” Jack Rodell on the big screen. Jack was being honored as the “Av for a Day”, a pretty cool program that creates amazing memories for deserving kids. I met this little stud at the Edge Ice Arena in 2019 as he was in midst of a life threatening battle with leukemia. That day Jack had no hair and I gave him a Dawg tuque and he gave me a precious smile. Fast forward nearly 3 1/2 years and Jack has been declared cancer free and he’s growing out those locks to show the “C” word who the boss is! Way to go Jack, it’s time we hit the ice together so you can show this old guy a thing or two!
