At the Blue Sport Stable in Superior, Colorado, Dawg Nation had the privilege of presenting Matt Tirrell with a check for $12,000.
Earlier this year, Matt’s life changed in an instant when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. A dump truck struck him, throwing him from his bike and leaving him with a broken leg, broken wrist, significant blood loss, and injuries severe enough to require surgery, a blood transfusion, and a four-day hospital stay.
As someone who works in construction, the injuries immediately impacted Matt’s ability to work and earn income. With multiple surgeries, physical therapy, and a lengthy recovery still ahead, he faced not only the physical challenges of healing but also the financial burden that often comes with a life-changing accident.
Because of the stairs at his home, Matt was unable to safely return and instead moved in with his father while he continued his recovery. Throughout it all, he remained focused on healing, rebuilding his strength, and taking care of the three dogs who mean so much to him.
Thanks to the generosity of the Dawg Nation community, local donors, sponsors, and supporters, we were able to present Matt with a check for $12,000 to help ease the financial pressures associated with medical expenses, lost income, daily living costs, and continued rehabilitation.
The check presentation was more than just financial support. It was a reminder that Matt is not facing this journey alone.
