Jack Zwit

Jack was born on the south side of Chicago in 1955, the fifth of nine children, and from the very beginning his life was shaped by family, resilience, and enduring love of the game of hockey. Growing up in Chicago, Jack first laced up his skates outdoors, playing on frozen rinks and neighborhood ice, where he developed both his skills and his passion for the sport that would stay with him for a lifetime.

Jack and the love of his life Debbie were married in 1979 and he and Debbie moved to Colorado in 2020 to be closer to their granddaughters.  After his retirement from 30 years in the railroad industry, Jack continued to seek ways to serve others, having volunteered with various organizations over the years. It was through hockey that he found Dawg Nation as a perfect match for that spirit of service, and he was welcomed into a community that quickly became meaningful to him. Through Hockey Heals, Jack found not only an opportunity to give back, but also to stay connected to the sport that had shaped his life. Concurrently, his Hockey Heals teammates have enjoyed every minute of our time on and off the ice with him.

Jack is currently battling significant health issues requiring hospitalization, and he and his family are navigating challenging treatment and recovery issueswith significant financial and emotional impacts to him and his family.  Please donate to help this very special man!
