It was a full day of pond hockey, dog walking, delivering a recipient check and celebrating a remarkable young man declaring victory over cancer!
The crescendo was watching Hunter “ring the bell”, but a close second was pulling off the “cool uncle” award thanks to McKenna Gehrke.
After pond hockey and a quick walk with my pup, I just happened to have as Dallas Cowboy cheerleader (McKenna) in my driveway. Happens to everyone, right?
Well anyway I took advantage of the opportunity to have her send Hunter a personal video and McKenna followed that up with a signed pic for my 6th grade pal.
Hunter was all smiles when I handed him the coveted pic in front of his hockey teammates. Of course he was instantly the envy of his crew of adolescent boys, imagine that!
Thank you McKenna, and congratulations Hunter! What a day to celebrate!
