Holiday Boulder Lights Parade

There’s not much better than a Christmas parade on cool, crisp December evening. It’s even better if your family is there with you. It’s even better when you can be in the parade. And it can’t be beat if there is a Zamboni and ice cold PBR beer involved!!

That’s exactly how I kicked off the 2014 holiday season when the DAWGs were invited to be part of the Pabst Colorado Pond Hockey crew in the Boulder Lights Parade. Mike “Sully” Sullivan handled the organ playing duties, Steve “Stix” Nielson manned the Zam, David “Golden Gopher” Janowiec did his best Herb Brooks impersonation, the kids handed out Christmas treats, and I skated the route tossing out an occasional puck!

This will definitely become an annual tradition for the DAWGs and something we’ll plan on doing for years to come!

The PBR guys are terrific bunch and host the region’s largest and best pond hockey tourney. The next one will be held in Summit County on President’s Day weekend in February, 2015. Come lace em’ up and test those mad skills in the cool mountain air! Lots of food, fun and beer!
