A special night for a special person.
This past Friday night we were honored to be part of a very special night for Christina “Toya” Montoya. Toya, who is always one of the first to step up when others are in need, was the one that needed a lift this time. 2017 has been a rough one for Toya and along with a few hundred of her closest friends we decided to change that!
Toya’s close friend, and DAWG Nation recipient herself, Angie Graves Petersen took the lead on this one. The event at Sobo 151 included a raffle, silent auction, live music, live auction, lots of Czech beer and bunch of hugs and tears! The energy reached a fevered pitch as the check to Toya rose to over $20,000!! And a special appearance from Milan Hejduk took the night to another level.
A BIG thanks to the countless folks that were involved in this one. A tearful Toya said it best, “while the monetary gift lifts an overbearing weight I have felt these last few months, the true gift is being uplifted by you all”.
