Elena Wesson, 39, is a dedicated mother of five boys who lives with her loving family in Strasburg, Colorado. Her son, Liam, 10, has been a passionate player with the Arapahoe Warriors for the past five years, playing both forward and defense. The Wesson family is deeply involved in the local hockey community, supporting Liam’s growth and love for the game.
While attending the Pikes Peak hockey tournament in Colorado Springs, Elena was the victim of a tragic and violent crime. On January 19, 2024, she was attacked at gunpoint and run over by the assailant’s truck during a car theft incident. The injuries she sustained have left her in significant pain and requiring daily assistance for essential tasks such as caring for her children, transportation, cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping.
Tragically, this incident occurred while Elena was in between insurance coverage, leaving her uninsured during this difficult time.
The DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation is stepping in to help support Elena and her family during her recovery. With the generosity of our community, we aim to provide the Wesson family with the resources they need whether it’s help with medical costs, transportation, or daily essentials.
Every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can show the Wesson family that the hockey community stands by – on and off the ice.
