Don Coombe is no stranger to “close calls”, and he added yet one more this past Friday. What started off as a routine day for this miracle man quickly became pretty darn scary. Breathing and vision issues prompted his coworkers to call for medical help. It quickly became apparent that Don was in the midst of a heart attack! He was rushed to the hospital to undergo heart surgery. A couple of stints later this Survivor was chatting with his family and sharing, “it’s gonna take more that that to get rid of me!”
Don is one of the kindest and caring individuals I know, he is also one of the toughest. Cancer nearly took his life on more than one occasion, leaving him with scars and battle wounds that show us all what a valiant fighter he is.
I’ve had many long and deep conversations with my friend and I’m breathing a huge sigh of relief that there are more of those to come! Here’s to you Don Coombe, see ya on the ice!!
