Monday, August 19th, the Courtney/Kunz family suffered the tragic loss of Kristin Kunz Courtney at her home in Arvada, Colorado.
Sometime after midnight, Kristin suffered a major medical event that sent her unresponsive to the ICU. Her husband Danny, son Jayden, and daughter Brooklynn were with Kristin while the paramedics were able to revive her temporarily. Kristin went to the ICU and a CAT scan indicated severe cerebral edema, caused by a lack of oxygen. Although the cause is unknown at this time, the medical event was so severe, that Kristin could not recover
The road ahead is uncertain and filled with many challenges for Kristin’s family, both emotional and financial. Jayden is 15 years old, in his sophomore year at Arvada West High School, and recently made the Mustang Hockey Varsity Team. Brooklynn will be 10 on September 9th and just started 5th grade at Fairmount Elementary and she is active in gymnastics, dance and softball.
