Born to Win

Ten years ago a song came on the radio that came full circle tonight. Cindy and I were heading to Colorado Springs when we heard “Born to Win” for the first time. We were blown away by the lyrics and knew right away that we were listening to a song that would become the anthem of Dawg Nation.

We just shook our heads when we realized that the band was named “Five for Fighting”, appropriately monikered after a penalty in hockey.

I met John Ondrasik over the phone eight years ago, but we had never met in person……until tonight! And boy was it was worth the wait!

Along with three recipient families, we were guests of the band. The concert was more than we imagined as John’s story telling and musical talents were on full display. It was powerful and even emotional at times. After the concert we were invited to spend time with John and finally meet in person.

Thank you John for a night we won’t soon forget!
