A Day to Remember

Published

It was quite the day after putting a bow on another memorable weekend in Humboldt. Lack of sleep and travel challenges were the Sunday theme as I headed back to the 303 to celebrate a life well lived!

After hitting my Humboldt hotel bed in the wee hours I was greeted by a 4 am wake up call followed by a 90 minute drive to Saskatoon. After two flights, one delayed, customs and a really long run/walk to the car, it still looked like I was actually going to make the 3 pm ceremony celebrating the one and only Shawn Leonard!!

That was until I reached into my backpack and realized my car keys were still in Saskatchewan!! Luckily I have an awesome sister in law that made the 60 mile drive to deliver my extra set of keys! It was then onto the celebration, albeit a little tardy!!

Not exactly how I drew it up, but in end I have quite a story that I know Shawn would have loved!!

Here’s to my Humboldt Bronco family that has welcomed me with an open arms. And here’s to Shawn, we were all lucky to know you!
