Brian started playing goalie when he was eight years old. He played AAA youth hockey, prep school hockey, and club hockey in college. He even jokes that two-time Stanley Cup champion Jonathan Quick stole his spot at the youth organization where they both played.
Brian’s life was shaken when he was diagnosed with cancer, but he fought it off and survived the same way he fought off pucks from the net that he was protecting. And that didn’t stop him from playing either.
On October 1, 2022, Peoples suffered from a stroke, changing his life once again.
Four months later, Peoples took the “Hockey Heals” ice for the first time with a walker in hand, and a month after that, full equipment skating and playing in a drop-in game with Hockey Heals. On May 8, 2024, Brian was back where he was always meant to be – stopping pucks.
