Shauna has been integral part of the Colorado figure skating and hockey community for many years. She is decorated figure skater from a family of prominent skaters and hockey players. Now in the biggest fight of her life, Shauna is battling interstitial lung disease that will likely result in a lung transplant.
Shauna and Russ Cagnoni have been married for 35 years and hockey has been an integral part of their lives ever since. Russ, a native of Aspen, has been a rink rat as long as he can remember and currently spends in time on the Zamboni at APEX. Their two boys, Ryan and Kyle, not surprisingly have been on skates since they could walk, and both have impressive hockey resumes as well.
Beginning with an autoimmune diagnosis in 2010, Shauna has been through more than anyone deserves. Years of infusions, a bout with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (stage 4) and damaged lungs from COVID have left Shauna in the fight for her life.
