Paying Respect

To me, the most important part of every Humboldt trip is to honor and pay our respects to the sixteen lives that left us way too soon.

This morning we made the trek to site of the crash that changed the life paths of 29 families and impacted the entire hockey world. One by one, we paused and talked about each of names on the sixteen crosses. That was followed by an emotional prayer lead by Dave Carr as our small group from Colorado stood in a united circle.

Tears rolled down our cheeks as we took in the enormity of this sacred site and tried to fathom the pain these families still endue. It is a difficult place to viait, but at the same time I couldn’t feel more blessed to have been welcomed into the lives of so many of these amazing families.

God Bless you all.
