Mike DiGiallonardo (aka “Mike D”) has been battling several medical issues for the past few years, including knee surgery in 2024 that required additional rehabilitative surgeries in April and May of this year. He’s been facing blood clots in his lungs and serious infections in his bones, requiring high doses of antibiotics and his recovery continues to be difficult. His medical challenges have had a major impact on his family – his wife Angela and young daughter – and have necessitated that he stop playing hockey for the foreseeable future.
