It was a full weekend of pond hockey and reppin’ Long Hockey! Pat Long dedicated his life to higher education, but he may be even more famous for starting Long Hockey in 1997. Three decades later, the 79 years young Pat still organizes four “Long Hockey” skates a week.
Last week Pat presented me with an official Long Hockey jersey! I wore my new prized possession this weekend while logging a ridiculous 5 hours of ice time in Indian Hills and Conifer. Probabiy a bit much but quite an honor to don the Long colors!
The next time I’m slipping this one on it will be at a Long Hockey skate. Already looking forward to sharing the ice with a Colorado Hockey legend!
