In the 2025 Dawg Bowl, the “Cardiac Kids”, also known as the Mallards, had come from behind in all three of their round robin games. So they were in a familiar position trailing 2-1 to the Fighting Mongooses with less than 30 seconds to go. With the goalie pulled, the Mallards knotted the score with a mere 22 ticks left on the clock and then unbelievably won it with a regulation goal just 18 seconds later!
It was also a very emotional and memorable weekend for the Flock as their beloved teammate, Tom Samuelson, took the ice with his son Keenan squarely on his mind. Keenan, a father of three, is battling stage four liver cancer and is away from his family receiving treatment in California.
Earlier in the tournament we brought the Samuelson family onto the ice before the Survivor Game. After sharing the family’s story, we had the honor to present the Samuelson’s with a check for $50,000!
Here’s to all the special memories and life changing moments that make up every Dawg Bowl. And thank you to all that continue to support, we simply can’t do it without you!
