[Denver, Colorado] — The Jay Sharrers Officiating School, a respected development camp for grassroots hockey officials, is proud to announce that it will officially become part of DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation beginning in 2026. This partnership marks a major step forward in expanding the school’s reach and increasing scholarship opportunities for young officials pursuing college education.

Established by Jay Sharrers, alongside a committee of experienced and passionate officiating leaders, the school has earned a reputation for delivering top-level instruction, leadership development, mentorship, and on-ice training to the next generation of officials. The program not only equips participants with skills to advance within the officiating profession but also directly supports their educational goals: all proceeds are earmarked for college scholarships awarded to past participants.

By aligning with DAWG Nation, the school enters a new stage—one defined by broader visibility, stronger community support, and enhanced impact.

“Partnering with DAWG Nation allows our school and its goals to grow far beyond what we could accomplish on our own,” said Jay Sharrers. “From day one, our goal has been to provide young officials meaningful opportunities both on the ice and in the classroom. DAWG Nation’s commitment to supporting the hockey community makes them the perfect partner to carry our mission forward.”

DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families within the hockey world who face hardship or need assistance. Since 2011, the organization has provided millions of dollars in direct aid, built community-driven programs, and championed the belief that hockey is for everyone. The foundation’s leadership sees the Jay Sharrers Officiating School as a natural fit within its collection of programs that enrich lives through the sport.

“We’re honored to welcome the Jay Sharrers Officiating School into the DAWG Nation family,” said Martin Richardson, President and CEO of DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation. “Jay’s commitment to excellence, mentorship, and opportunity aligns perfectly with our mission. Together, we will elevate the school’s profile, reach more aspiring officials, and ultimately provide even greater financial support for those pursuing their post-secondary education.”

Beginning in 2026, the school will operate under DAWG Nation’s program structure. DAWG Nation will support logistics, operations, and marketing efforts, enabling the school to expand enrollment, strengthen its curriculum, and enhance its presence within the broader hockey community. The partnership will also streamline the scholarship distribution process, ensuring that scholarship awards are maximized and delivered efficiently to deserving officials.

The transition also brings long-term stability to the school, which has grown steadily since its launch. Through DAWG Nation’s infrastructure, volunteer network, and donor community, the program is expected to increase its annual impact while preserving the core elements that have made the school successful.

“This partnership ensures that our school will continue to thrive for years to come,” added Sharrers. “It expands our reach, strengthens our principles, and allows us to provide more support to young officials.”

The Jay Sharrers Officiating School will host its next summer camp under DAWG Nation leadership in the summer 2026. Details regarding date, location, event programming, and registration will be announced in the coming months.
