Hockey Fights Cancer

Hockey Fights Cancer Night is a special night that is a celebration on many levels but is also a difficult night as well. My chosen path allows me the incredible honor of being part of so many remarkable journeys, and for that I am very grateful. However, that honor is not always an easy one, but is one that is extremely important to me.

Many of my favorite childhood memories were going to hockey games with my dad. In fact the very first sporting event that my dad took me to was a Denver Spurs minor league hockey game. That night that was so impactful that I still remember the score, can recall where I sat, and can honestly say it’s still one of the most memorable an cherished moments of my childhood.

Last night I took on my familiar role of entertianing and I did my best to put on a brave face, but I really missed my dad. I also missed Peter, Sarah, Arnie, Ben, Craig, Heather, Todd and all the others that have touched my life and my heart.

Losing loved ones to this horrible disease is something that is devastating but also gives us the opportunity to reflect on incredible memories and experiences that were made along the way.

God Bless you all.
