Cappy's Corner
Goodbye Bruce
It was a difficult day for Colorado hockey as we said goodbye to a sled hockey pioneer. As the father of a son with spina bifida, Bruce Grandchamp was focused on treating Pierce in the same manner as all of his children. That included providing Pierce with the opportunity to excel in athletics and understand the importance of hard work. Pierce was one of the very first sled hockey players in Colorado and Bruce was the first parent volunteer of what would become Colorado Sled Hockey. That dedication and guidance resulted in tremendous success on the ice while paving the way for endless stories of success.
The unconditional love Bruce had for all four of his children was beyond evident as friends, coworkers and family members shared stories of a great man that left us too soon. Bruce, your time was too short, but your impact was immense.
Here’s to you Bruce Grandchamp, you have shown us all what true love really looks like!
