A Little Help From Our Friends

November 19, 2022
What a weekend, and it ain’t done yet!! Two big checks on Friday night capped off a wildly successful Hocktoberfest. After getting a few z’s I was right back at it as we spent last night in Loveland on yet another Dawg Nation fundraiser, this one near and dear to my heart. It was absolutely mind blowing to witness the generosity at the Budweiser Event Center as the Eagle faithful joined our n…

Living the life I do allows me to meet some pretty remarkable people. Drew Garza, Josh Schneider and Adam Young are three of those. All three are visually impaired, and all three don’t let a disability define them. Despite being legally blind this trio are all huge hockey fans and all really good hockey players! Their hard work and dedication has paid off as Drew, Josh and Adam will now …

What a Wenesday

November 9, 2022
I’m fully aware that I lead a very blessed life, but today may of taken the cake. Hockey in the am, followed by a visit to my office from Avs head man Jared Bednar, who just happened to drop off a ton of signed items. Then downtown to spend time with Matt Duchene, who shared that he’s donating $100 to Dawg Nation for every goal he scores this season! Next was the Colorado Eagles game in Lovelan…

Rmembering a Friend

November 8, 2022
Like so many of you, I am still reeling from the loss of a pillar in our hockey community. I’ve thought about Peter quite a bit over the last few days. As I relaxed in front of the fire, sifting through countless pictures and memories, it occurred to me that Maxy literally knew my entire family. From Cindy, to all three of my girls, to my brother, to my son in law, to my parents, and even…

Rest easy Maxy

November 6, 2022
It’s a really difficult day as the hockey world has lost a legend. Peter McNab ALWAYS made time for others and truly was one of the very best people I’ve ever met. My memories with Peter are vast, for that I am eternally grateful. I’m also incredibly thankful that the family reached out to me last week and blessed me with one last visit with my buddy. Peter was weak and his words soft, but his …

Uncle Cappy

November 6, 2022
Over the last ten years I’ve had the extreme pleasure of watching Marek & David Hejduk grow into fine young men. These gifted twins have had many milestones and one of the biggest occurred last night in Boston as Marek tallied is first ever NCAA goal! With his parents (Milan and Zlata) in attendance, the Harvard freshman netted a highlight reel shorthanded goal to put the Crimson up 3-0 ove…

Coach and the Campus Lounge

November 3, 2022
What a roller coaster day. The afternoon began with a call that rocked me to the core as I learned yet another close friend was nearing the end. I dropped everything and headed to the hospital for a difficult farewell to a very kind soul. From there it the Campus Lounge to be part of the ”Coach’s Show With David Carle”. During my portion of the show I did my best to pay tribute to Rob Ha…

History is made

Special night at Ball Arena as the Avs raised the Stanley Cup champion banner! It was also ”date night with Cappy” with Dawg Bowl raffle winner Zac Neumayr as he joined me for a great night that included a few stops along the the way. One of those was with Paul “Biz Nasty” Bissonnette!! Go Avs!!

Mark your calendars! November 18th as it’s Hocktoberfest at the Blue Spruce Brewery in Littleton! It will be the Czechs vs the Germans as Jan and Milan bring back their highly successful “Double Czech Pilsner” to take on the Richardson boys with their mouth watering “Brewdawg German Lager”. Delicious food, great beer, fun games, amazing auction, GIVING BACK and one heck of a good time!! …

Uncork for a Cause

October 10, 2022
Capping off a super busy weekend with Gabe Landeskog’s “Uncork for a Cause” event at the Brown Palace. With proceeds going to “Together for Change”, a terrific organization that focuses on anti bullying, something Gabe has been a part of since his youth. It was also terrific to spend much of evening with my good friend Peter Wallen, who also happens to be Landy’s agent. And spending…

Bucket List

October 6, 2022
A well deserved day off for the coach! Right after last night’s game we headed to the beautiful Park Range Ranch for a little relaxation and an antelope hunt. For me it was a 1/2 work day with an incredible back drop, and for Bedsey it was a bucket list item filled! At the same time it was yet another Dawg Nation contribution for the next family up! Cheers to all of you and best of …

Keep on Fighting Quincy!!!

September 26, 2022
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Colorado Avalanche, Michael Lallier, Josh Suter and Keith Frankl, I was able to host nearly 50 people to last night’s Avalanche preseason game! There were lots of friendly faces but the night truly belonged to Quincy Rohrbach! Stage four bone cancer may have slowed this little dynamo down a tad, but it certainly hasn’t squelched her desire to live life…
