I was incredibly fortunate when a free spirited 17 year old with blue hair entered our Dawgs locker room back in 2004. Danny was instantly an incredible teammate and an even better friend. Always stepping up when someone needed a lift. Well in 2009 it was our turn to have Danny’s back as he faced an uncertain future after being diagnosed with cancer. That difficult news created our first ever “passing of the hat” and kick started an unlikely journey that nobody could of anticipated. That brave young man has gone on to become a husband, a father, a business leader and a tremendous man with an amazing heart. After several years of being cancer free Danny was under the knife again late last week to remove a new tumor. The surgery was tricky but successful and chemo or radiation may be on the horizon but we all know that Danny’s got this. I’ve been lucky to meet a lot of good people in my life and Danny’s one of the very best. Get well soon buddy!
