Kyle Barrowcliff
A First Responder Could Use our Help
As a first responder, Kyle Barrowcliff has been there for countless people in their time of need 24/7 in his over 25+ years as a Denver Paramedic. Kyle is also our team paramedic and quick on the ice in the event of player injury or concussion. He and his wife Debbie, an Emergency Room Nurse, have dedicated themselves to helping those in need and now they face the biggest challenge of their lives, to fight cancer. Kyle’s sons, Ian 15 years old and Brandon 16 years old, have played for Littleton Hawks hockey their whole youth careers from age 5 though 16 with Ian currently on our 16U AA CSDHL prospects team. Brandon currently plays for a local high school Varsity hockey team. This family could use your help and prayers as they face a very difficult road ahead. On October 24th, 2023, the day before Ian’s 15th birthday, Kyle was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue metastatic to the lymph nodes. Soon to follow, on December 5th, Kyle’s surgery consisted of removing part of the tongue and lymph nodes on both sides of his neck. Rehabilitation is underway to learn to speak and swallow. In time, there will be a better understanding on how much function will return. Once recovered and healed from surgery, Kyle will begin radiation and chemotherapy treatment continuing the long fight with cancer. While finding the positives can be challenging, Kyle looks forward to mountain biking again with the family, hunting, kayaking and hiking with the family’s two Corgis, Nash and Forrest.
