Jami is a very health-conscious long-time hockey player, a coach, and a mentor to disadvantaged children and adults in Colorado Springs. In addition to over 14 years as a player in the WACH, she serves on the Board of Directors for the CSAHA Tigers, started an amazing Learn-To Play program for kids aged 4 to 14, coaches youth and adult sled hockey, and has devoted her life to supporting at-risk individuals including young girls and boys, development disabled adults, foster care, military personnel battling emotional issues, and suicide prevention.
Jami is battling multiple hereditary and seriously life-threatening diseases, with a myriad of complications. Most notably, in addition to numerous other health impacts, she suffers from Hereditary Angeodema (HAE) and Alpha-1-Antitryspin (AAT), which have damaged her liver, lungs, and heart. Her ongoing treatments are not covered by insurance, and she will need to take long-term medical leave from her job in the near future.
