An unexpected emergency created unexpected expenses.
Dennis and Shannon Baker both work as medical professionals (he’s an EMT and she’s a travel nurse) and they thought their son, Brady, had the stomach flu one weekend this summer. But when Brady didn’t want to go to hockey practice on Sunday, they knew something was terribly wrong. They rushed him to the hospital only to find out he needed emergency appendectomy surgery. The recovery turned out to be the most difficult part for all of them with an active eight-year-old on a week’s bed-rest!
Like many insurance policies these days, their policy didn’t come close to covering the actual cost of the surgery and recovery. We’re happy to report that Brady made a full recovery and now plays for a travel squirt A team at LHA (Littleton Hockey Association).
All the Bakers love hockey, they give to the community, and they are well deserving of this small donation we made to their family
