Giving Back to Brian Ross

Published

An Early Christmas Present

On December 22, DAWG Nation surpried the Ross family with a check for $2,300. Ted Atkinson, Jayme’s dad and grandpa to Brian and Jayme’s kids, had the honor of delivering the check! With Brian’s immune system still recovering and COVID still looming, we opted for the photo op version of the check presentation. The family doned their battle t-shirts, HIS BATTLE OUR BATTLE. We are proud to support the Ross family in this battle and are grateful for the good news of cancer hopefully staying in the rearview mirror!

Rigorous cancer treatment…

Brian is a long time member of the law enforcement community. He served in the Englewood police department and then would move over to the Aurora police department for a number of years. This past year Brian took a job as an investigator in the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s office, but after only 2 months into his new job he was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer and under went a rigorous treatment schedule. After a long road of treatments, Brian has the cancer on its heels.

A Hockey Family

It was while serving in the Englewood police department that Brian met his future father-in-law, Ted Atkinson. Ted has 30 years of service with the Englewood police department and he himself is a hockey player on the Old DAWGs and Neighborhood DAWGs teams. Brian would marry Ted’s daughter Jayme, and Brian and Jayme have a son Brock who is a 2nd year mite for the Lakewood Lakers youth hockey team and a heck of a hockey player! They are indeed a hockey family now spanning 3 generations. Jayme is trying to continue to work as a kindergarten para-pro but wishes she could be home more to take care of Brian.

Thank you for joining DAWG Nation in supporting Brian by donating to the effort to assist him with his medical expenses and ease some of the burden on him and his family.
