Giving Back to Brandi Womak

Brandi was diagnosed with anaplastic oligodendroglioma, a malignant cancer. She has fought this battle before, but her family and her doctors believe this time it may be terminal. She will be undergoing surgery to attempt to remove the tumor, but unfortunately she has a lot of fluid buildup on her brain, and her doctors will be placing a shunt to relieve some of the pressure and fluid buildup. Her son, Liam, plays for Twin Bridges Lightning and will be a 10U major this upcoming season. The family is lifelong St Louis Blues fans as well. Brandi’s husband, Craig Womack, is facing the potential for a life without Brandi, having to raise their 3 children. It is anticipated they will be faced with significant medical bills from treatment, as well as the loss of Brandi’s income and familial and societal contributions to the family.

Joining forces with the Twin Bridges youth organization, our St Louis chapter surprised Brandi Womack and her family with a BIG check yesterday as part of a 3 on 3 youth tourney. Brandi is fighter to the core and has recently had a bit of a setback in her battle with brain cancer. But with a loving family and the hockey community by her side, Brandi is ready to drop the gloves with cancer and go for the knockout. With the help of many we’re hoping to put a significant dent in the mounting medical bills so Brandi can focus on what’s most important. Please join us in wishing the Womack’s our very best.
