Very cool evening at Benders helping out a fellow hockey player. Just a few weeks ago Matt Bitter came within a whisker of saying goodbye to this world. It was just another beer league game at the Promenade for this kind hearted defenseman when Matt started to feel faint and headed to the locker room. A massive heart attack ensued and if not for quick thinking and incredible work of many, including teammate Todd Harvey, we would not of enjoyed last night with our friend. A scary few days followed but Matt is now almost back to full strength and planning his return to the ice! Making the night extra special was the inclusion of a large crowd of teammates, friends, and fellow survivors!
And to put the cherry top, we were joined by the one and only Porter Johnson, as we snapped a pic and celebrated his first ever hockey practice!!!
