Back to School!

Published

I had the pleasure of meeting Cody “Beeks” Beekman four years ago. We met while Cody was at Craig Hospital recovering from a life changing car accident. Cody and I have grown close over the last few years and I’ve watched firsthand his physical and emotional struggles and even bore witness to a very scary brush with death.

This spring, Beeks took a very big step as he started his college career at my alma mater. Utilizing a few of my connections I was able to link Cody with the appropriate folks at Metro State University and Cody did his part in working very hard to make sure he was ready for this life changing step.

“I was pretty nervous at first, as school was never really my thing, but once I went to my first class I was hooked.”, explained Cody.

Cody has immersed himself into the college life and he just finished his first semester in journalism program finishing with a 3.5 GPA!! His goal is to someday work in the sports media field and I wouldn’t bet against him.

“Metro has been awesome, I feel like I have a purpose and I can honestly say this is the happiest I’ve been since the accident.”, added my friend.

WAY TO GO CODY!!
AND GO ROADRUNNERS!
