ROAD TRIP

Home for three days and off again! This time to Minnesota to host a pond hockey tourney to raise money for Ethan Glynn and his family. Ethan was tragically paralyzed on September 2nd and is facing a challenging life without movement below his shoulders. It’s a very important event, but I’m nervous as I may have bit off a little more than I can chew! Running a charity event from 1,100 miles away may seem crazy, but being a CPA and hosting an event of this size during tax season could be certifiable!
However, in my defense, I probably would have never signed up for this one had I known this project would include more curveballs, unanticipated challenges and unfulfilled promises than any event I’ve ever encountered. But at the same time it’s been amazing to watch a community come together, individuals do things they didn’t think they were capable of, and big hearts being displayed around every corner.
When my stress levels hit dangerous levels, I pause and think of Corey, Cassi, Parker and especially Ethan. I also think of how lucky I am to have a beautiful healthy family. It is then, that I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and think about a young man that needs me and others like me. Ethan Glynn, Cappy is here for you.
